Welcome to 70percentaqua

Perhaps you've always wondered about life beneath the waves, including a dive spot that you're thinking of visiting.

Perhaps you're a new diver overwhelmed with all the skills and experiences yet to be learned before becoming  confident and competent in the water.

Perhaps you want to relive a dive with all its colourful shoals of fish, glimmering blue seas and the weightlessness feeling of gliding through the water.

Welcome to 70percentaqua, a blog dedicated to sharing my adventures, learnings and amazing ocean experiences!

As a photography enthusiast, and as a diver with my masters in marine science, my blog explores the science of the ocean, using my creative storytelling and pictures to convey the wonders of this precious, fragile world.

Along the way, I am also sharing my journey to becoming a better scuba diver, including all those embarrassing, cringeworthy stories that send macho divers off on ego-related rants.

Scuba is like learning to drive a car - learning doesn't end once you complete your 5-day open water course and get your license. While you no longer need to display your "learners" plate, you still need to practise your skills in driving a car in many different situations. So it is with scuba.

So don't be shy, dive right in!
