Helpful links and sites

To appeal to a wide audience, I have tried to minimise the use of technical terms in my blog.  I do, however, try to progressively introduce key scuba and environmental concepts to my readers.

This page will be one of useful links and references. It is a work in progress for now. Feel free to suggest more to me. Because they are external links, I am therefore not responsible for the ongoing accuracy of the content of those sites. I hope they are useful.

  • Scuba Diver Dictionary: a list of commonly used terms and concepts amongst the dive community.
  • Marine Explorer: a great resource of articles, photographs and videos on the Australian marine environment, specialising in particular on the temperate east coast (Sydney region).
  • Exmouth Dive Centre: where I got my Open Water scuba license. While it was over 10 years ago now, at the time I was very impressed with the quality of the instructors and the level of service of the centre.
  • Deep Dive Gear: excellent service and expertise, great tech equipment, great prices.
  • Dive2000: excellent service, expertise and advice, particularly in terms of underwater photography.
  • Fish Base: An online global authoritative information source on fishes, in particular fish names (I also use many books!).
